Public Works Tour and Open House
To celebrate Public Works Week, the City invites you and your family to join us on May 22 from 4-6:30 p.m. for an action-packed event for all ages!

Learn how traffic lights work, get your questions answered by staff, climb in a snowplow, and so much more.
Facility tour
Ever wondered what happens at a city’s public works shop? Take a tour to learn about all the department functions. Staff will be available for questions and kids can fill out a scavenger hunt for prizes!
Touch-a-Truck
The City will have multiple large vehicles open for residents to explore, with staff onsite to help answer questions.
Stations
Learn more about water quality and adopting a water drain near your home, projects our engineers are developing, as well as our Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) and Emergency Operations Center.
Demonstrations
Learn about traffic lights, see how a fire hydrant works, browse the inside of CCTV van with all the screens and see video within stormwater pipes, and see how snow plows are coordinated during a snow event!
