Join Mountains to Sound Greenway for an unforgettable evening discovering the secret world (and work) of beavers living throughout the Mountains to Sound Greenway National Heritage Area. Join the Greenway Trust and beaver experts from Beavers Northwest on a sunset tour of Tibbets Creek, complete with lake and river views, and active habitat restoration project work along the creek. During the hike, participants will learn about the amazing habitats that beavers create and the numerous benefits of these ecosystems. You’ll hear about local restoration efforts, coexistence strategies, ways to get involved, and enough fun facts to call yourself a certified beaver nerd by the end of the evening!

Where to Meet and Parking Information
Please meet at the Tibbets Beach Parking lot in Lake Sammamish State Park – Parking Area (Google Map Link ) and be ready to search for beaver habitat at 7 PM. Note that this is a large parking area, so look out for event leaders and signs. Please note that a Discover Pass is required at this park. We highly encourage carpooling whenever possible!
Cost: These events are free to attend, but donations are welcome to support the ongoing work of our nonprofit and to help offset the cost of running programming such as this (recommended donation = $15 / person). Thank you for supporting the Greenway Trust!

Your safety and enjoyment are our top priorities. You’ll be accompanied by experienced hike leaders with Wilderness First Aid training who will not only guide you through the trails but also provide valuable insights and stories along the way.

This event is a perfect opportunity to learn and connect with fellow outdoor enthusiasts, while also fostering a deeper connection to our environment. Participants will learn about the vital work of a local environmental nonprofit, the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust, and discover how you can play a role in preserving and protecting our cherished natural spaces.

For nearly 30 years, the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust has helped to restore habitat and conserve public lands in Lake Sammamish State Park, alongside several other partners such as the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe, Trout Unlimited and Friends of Lake Sammamish State Park.
