Open Studio with Janice King at The Arts Sanctuary

See a new, installation-scale textile work as it is being created by artist-in-residence Janice King!

The “Trees of Memory Future” project will draw viewers into new ways of thinking about our beloved Northwest trees and their potential futures in the face of climate change.

Learn about the inspirations, materials, and techniques behind this large, multi-panel work as well as the creative experience of an artist residency. Drop in anytime during the open hours; suitable for all ages.

About the Artist: Janice King

Janice King is a self-taught fiber artist who has long had a deep sense of place in the forests of the Pacific Northwest. Her work encompasses art quilting, textile collage and art knitting/crochet, combining new with rescued or repurposed materials. She strives to create art that educates from a base of naturalist knowledge and resonates with the emotional and spiritual dimensions of human life.

Arts Sanctuary is a temporary art activation at 745 Front Street South that will be open between September 5th – October 6th. Issaquah Arts and Our Savior Lutheran Church have partnered together to bring a series of events and art installations to celebrate autumn with art.
