Matcha is ground green tea and is ever-growing in popularity, and many people have only tasted matcha in drinks or smoothies. The traditional use of matcha, in the Japanese Tea Ceremony is simply to be whisked in water. There are so many brands at different prices: how do you choose?
In this class we will taste and compare different brands and quality levels–experiencing six to seven different matchas.
We’ll also review how the tea plant, Camellia sinensis is traditionally cultivated and processed to create ceremonial matcha. By the end of the class you will have a much better understanding of this ground green tea and determine the taste profile you prefer.
