DIG-A-THON Stewardship Saturday
Join Trout Unlimited (TU) and the Lake Sammamish Urban Wildlife Refuge Partnership (UWRP) as we partner with Green Issaquah on this special Stewardship Saturday DIG-A-THON!
We’re working to remove as much blackberry from the Anthology Open Space as possible to clear space to plant native trees in the wetland area along a section of Tibbetts Creek.
Come dig with us – we’ll have special prizes for the largest and gnarliest rootballs we dig out!
Event Details
Meet at 9:00 am* at the start of the boardwalk along 19th Ave NW, across from the Rowley Storage Units. Volunteers will be using loppers, shovels, and other tools to cut and dig blackberry out as we prep the site for future native tree plantings.
All community members are welcome, and no experience necessary!
*Please note that DIG-A-THONth is starting an hour earlier than past Stewardship Saturday events.
Reserve your spot online. Registration will close at 5:00 pm the day before the event.
What to bring
- Closed-toed shoes are required, such as hiking boots, tennis shoes, or rain boots. Digging will be muddy.
- Don’t forget your water, snacks, and any additional layers to keep yourself comfortable while you’re out.
